Anti-Labour day weekend.
I got the chance to go to a Yankees -V- Red Sox game on Wednesday, after a slight rush around to pick up the tickets, which thankfully saw the Yankees coming out on top at 4-3. We were seated in the bleachers and it certainly provided for a very different atmosphere but a good time was had by all (well, except the guys that get kicked out). I took the chance on Saturday to pick up a few things I'd been meaning to get before I head back home and had a bit of a walk around the city. Likewise, Sunday and Monday were spent in and around Bayonne just cleaning up some of the house and things like that to save me doing it in the next few weeks. Not particularly thrilling :).

The 'interesting' reference speaks of a story untold about the game: like why the lads were thrown out. Also you did not mention that although the NYY wiped out the Sox in that series the Sox have since recovered most of their advantage! Should be a good end of season. Hard to believe you have done six months and are now starting your preparations for a return. Nevertheless, I'd bet you'll squeeze another adventure out of your visit before you return. In the meantime today is, once again, Friday: enjoy the weekend.
Welcome to my world! Unfortunately all the cleaning you did will probably need to be done again before the end....some gremlins always muck it up again!!
As your Dad said sure its the weekend again - enjoy! We're heading to Seamus' tomorrow night for a group viewing of 'the booze cruise' and to discuss tactics for the French Wine raid next year.
The best fun always ends up with cleaning to be done. In fact, if there's no cleaning to be done, chances are you haven't really had a good time. Take a Mexican Taco from Abracababra, for example. If you really get into it, now I mean the full head-on attack, where you try to get a mouthful of everything the Taco has to offer - the pita bread, the salad, the cheese, the meat and the hot sauce - all in the mouth at the same time, you end up with various part of the Taco from ear-to-ear, not to mention the bits between your fingers. The nicest Taco is definitely the one where you have to wash "hands and face" afterwards. Did I ramble there? Where were we? Oh yes, cleaning the house. Cecilia, Andrew would only have visited "your world" if he had a TEAM of people also assisting in a clean-up operation!!! :-O) ... And someone to put the kettle on.
The gang came over to my house to share a bottle ... a BIG bottle of Champagne, courtesy of your Dad, in celebration of my expedition. Although I think (gratefully) the Champagne was for returning home OK rather than for doing the trip! The bottle was SO big we thought we'd have trouble getting through it in one night. I had some doubts about 20 minutes after the cork popped, was then glad I had put a bottle of wine in the fridge "just in case". That consumed, all fears of too much Champagne were dispelled as I desperately put another bottle of wine in the freezer to cool down (which was duly polished off) before the evening was capped off by a round of Baileys!
I must watch that Booze Cruise film sometime.
Six months? Quick in ways but also seems to have been a full six months with so much packed in. I've certainly enjoyed this American trip anyway! Y'all have a nice day now.
