Vroom Vroom.
With all the money around, I just couldn't help but splash out.
So after running around New York and New Jersey for a week and a bit, we decided to treat ourselves to a bit of an outing after the good news we had received. We made our way down to the Javits Convention Centre where they were hosting the 2007 auto-show. At $14 dollars in it was a good show, the RDS should take notes. You will be glad to hear that the majority of this post will be pictures, so you can sit back and enjoy the show (well, you may have to strain to scroll down the screen, or click the pictures if you want a bigger image). Anyway, on with the show (and about 500 clicks to upload all these pictures).
This was the first car that greated us into the show. (That's about as much sequence as I will follow, otherwise I could be here for a few days)
I guess we may as well get the "airstream" out of the way first since it's at the top of the list.
I think they were aiming for the "Fugliest Car" award. (For those wondering about Fugly, check here.
This is a monstrosity beyond anything I have ever seen. I think even "Pimp my Ride" would hang their heads in shame.
Here is the front. Yes. It's ugly.
On a better note, the new Jaguar Portfolio (thanks Gary, apparently these things have "Badges" or something in order to stop you confusing a Jaguar with an Aston Martin)
And to answer your next question, she has a great rear end.
According to my filenames, here is a "bluecar". I hope you're able to keep up with all the technical mumbo-jumbo I am tossing at you. Gary has informed me that it is infact a Porsche 911.
A blue Honda. (again, try to keep up)
Here is the latest Calloway, yes, the same people that make your golf clubs. (although they never did say that there was enough room in the boot to fit your golf clubs, I'm sure Clackson will be happy with that)
A new concept car, I have it marked as Camero, but I think that is mis-spelt.
And it's rear... Yes, an actual rear end this time, sorry to disappoint.
Weird bubble car.
And again, but from a new angle. I can hear your awe.
Some funny looking colouring book type car.
And her is the designer drawing similar pictures for people. While the girl is getting something for nothing, she seems to be very VERY concerned. Whatever could be causing such heart-striking fear, I wonder...
I like this one.
I like this one too, looks kind of odd. Some sort of Dodge, can't remember the full name.
Same car, different angle; same new-angle awe I trust.
An interesting car, with all sorts of glass addons and finishes.
Angle+awe
But what's this? It's the plug of course. Electric Hybrid car.
A Ferrari. That's pretty much it. Unfortunatly we couldn't sit in 'em.
Old-skool
The Dukes of Hazards; 2050.
You know the deal; awe.
Love this car.
AWEx2!
Up close and personal.
Me giving it my best "gansta'". It seems to be working on my passenger at least.
Indy 500 car.
I want one. Badly.
Let the awe commence.
I like these dark ones.
I don't know why I even bothered pretending to be interested in the cars on this one. Stupid auto-flash.
Pretty Lexus grill.
Nice.
Nice paint job on a Viper. Shame the show didn't have some more things like this.
Ohhhh, shiny.
Not sure who makes these, but they are nice. Spyker. I love how the architecture of the Centre reflects on the bonnet too, gives it a great finish.
Calloways again.
This is a "safe" car apparantly. I dunno though, it was in worse nick that any of the other cars I had seen that day.
This car was voted a close second to represent the Delorian in Back To The Furture
We all know this one.
Awe
And some more Awe
And for the oldman...
The people stayed in the car for the duration of my photoshoot, so I wasn't able to have a look around (plus my legs were burning at that stage :().
That's about it, I ommitted some (I know it doesn't seem like it) but before we left, we had one last thing to do. Test drive Seamus' new Jeep; or at least his new hobbie.
Enjoy. <-- you should be able to click that, if it doesn't auto-load below.
Quality is quite crap because I had the wrong settings on the camera >.<
Also, am I the only one that HATES hearing their own voice played back? Painful.
And because the quality is so low, you can't see the light snow, yes, snow.
